It's my favorite picture with Jim Wallwork.
More than 45 years between this picture and the first
time I heard off the achievement of Jim and Major Howard's men. I was kid. I was 10. And here I am, finding myself, after so many years in front of him. It was one of the most beautiful moment of my entire life.
His eyes full
of tenderness and my admiration and
my pride in being at his side, this is also what has guided my film. It is the look of a father to a son, and this is the fulfillment of a son to a father.
The fact of recollection, and not to forget what I've been told by my family
of their relief and joy to know that men
were in the process to liberate them. I thought of my dad, I fought of my uncle, to all those who told me about this day of June 6, 1944.
That day, it's a little ten year old boy who is interviewing, and this little boy is me.
