Jim Wallwork few days after he returns from his Normandy mission.
He seems to say: "We really got them!!"

It's my favorite picture with Jim Wallwork.
More than 45 years between this picture and the first
time I heard off the achievement of Jim and Major Howard's men. I was kid. I was 10. And here I am, finding myself, after so many years in front of him. It was one of the most beautiful moment of my entire life.
His eyes full
of tenderness and my admiration and
my pride in being at his side, this is also what has guided my film. It is the look of a father to a son, and this is the fulfillment of a son to a father.
The fact of recollection, and not to forget what I've been told by my family
of their relief and joy to know that men
were in the process to liberate them. I thought of my dad, I fought of my uncle, to all those who told me about this day of June 6, 1944.
That day, it's a little ten year old boy who is interviewing, and this little boy is me.

Here it's a naturel memorial, a symbol: the first area liberated on the soil of France,

Allied Invasion landed, they were only two veterans

Tich Rayner is always very moved when he comes to Normandy to pay his respects in the night of June 5th to 6th
at the spot where the gliders landed. I invite you to gather to this ceremony. There is something very touching about
hearing Major Howard voice resonate in the night. Thank you to the organizers. Soon they will not be with us anymore.
There is still one survivor of the 3 gliders landed that night of June 1944 on Bénouville Bridge, it's Pat Turner
